June Picks

Promise;this will be a super brief article, highlighting a couple of the items I fawned over in June that I feel everyone should consider getting.

Gold pendant.

A classic must have for every closet, A simple gold pendant goes with just about everything. Adding a touch of sophistication to every ensemble. Mentioned in the ‘minimal outfit’ post, Jewelry has a way of brightening up what would otherwise be a dull outfit. This is especially the case if your into wearing monotone outfits or neutrals.When worn against brighter colours, the result is simply stunning.I purchased the gold pendant pictured from a Kenyan online jewelry store Beige at 945, in the style ‘Reign’.

Black sunglasses.

Yet another accessory that should feature in every closet, I got this super sleek pair as a Christmas gift. I only began styling it with different outfits in June, when I noticed the incredible versatility of this pair. Black sunglasses go with literally everything in your closet. Cat eye or square shaped sunglasses always add a sleek vibe to the simplest of outfits, be sure to go for sunglasses that flatter your face shape though.

I feel like with the move to digitize just about everything, sitting down with a good magazine or even a book has become a rarity. Creative content has almost entirely moved to digital platforms, making it easier to access and publish. The downside to this is being flooded with images and videos. In an attempt to get through it all we furiously scroll down paragraphs and images and hurriedly watch the videos we are bombarded with. This method of processing information eventually leads to a much shorter attention span, .. (yikes!) Nothing beats getting cosy with your fave mag and actually reading the articles, actually appreciating the imagery and actually engaging the content. In a world that seems to be moving faster and days that are seemingly shorter, it helps to unplug from technology and have a good read.
